Appellate mediation governed by App.R.20 and Loc.R. 4 of selected civil and administrative appeals from the Franklin County Municipal Court and the Common Pleas Court - Domestic, Probate, Juvenile and General Divisions involving a variety of disputes including personal injury, domestic, small business, employment, commercial and breach of contract cases. Administrative appeals also are mediated. Explores the possibilities of settlement in a neutral setting and otherwise assists the parties and counsel as needed in preparing the case for submission to court. Resolves procedural problems; identifies and clarifies main issues on appeal. The Prehearing Conference conferences were instituted in October 1989.
Fees: Mediation: No court costs involved.
Neutrals: A conference attorney who is a staff attorney employed with the Court of Appeals.
