Arbitration of cases filed in Common Pleas Court (General Division) which are determined to have an amount in controversy less than $50,000. Awards can exceed $50,000 if justified by the facts and the law. The selections are made from pending cases only by the judges or counsel. All parties must agree to an amount in controversy larger than $50,000. This court-annexed program started in 1983.

Neutral Qualifications

Attorneys must be members of the Columbus Bar Association. A chairman must have a minimum of 3 years in practice.
