Franklin County Court of Common Pleas Rule 103 Arbitration
In business for 35 years
Arbitration of cases filed in Common Pleas Court (General Division) which are determined to have an amount in controversy less than $50,000. Awards can exceed $50,000 if justified by the facts and the law. The selections are made from pending cases only by the judges or counsel. All parties must agree to an amount in controversy larger than $50,000. This court-annexed program started in 1983.
Franklin County Municipal Court Dispute Resolution Program
Mediation is available in Small Claims, rent escrow cases, forcible entry and detainer cases, and civil cases referred by judges of the court, or at the request of the parties. Mediation is available at any stage of a proceeding including pre-filing. There is no fee.
Franklin County Probate Court Mediation Program
In business for 7 years
This Court-annexed program was started by Judge Montgomery in 2011. Mediation is available for will contests, asset concealment actions, estate inventories and exceptions to accounts, land sales, name changes, guardianship disputes, trust disputes, fiduciary litigation, attorney fee disputes, civil actions, and wrongful death settlements.
